Flag person, 17, struck on highway near Lloydminster, Sask.

A crash in a construction zone on the west side of Saskatchewan last night has sent a 17-year-old flag person and a 48-year-old driver to hospital.

A crash in a construction zone on the west side of Saskatchewanlast night has sent a 17-year-old flag person and a 48-year-old driver to hospital.

A vehicle crashed into the back of a stopped vehicle near the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 26. That's about 86 kilometres east of Lloydminster.

According to RCMP, a truck collided into the back of a car which was stoppedata construction zone.Investigators were still working to determine how flag person was injured.

Police said the maleflag person and the female driverwere the ones taken to hospital.

The 43-year-old male driver of the truck did not report any injuries.

Police noted it was rainy at the time and roads were wet, but they did not say if those conditions played a factor in the collision.

RCMP are still investigating.

Keith Dunford, theman accused of killingher with his vehicle, is currently on trial for criminal negligencecausing death.

Since the Midale crash, the province has increased fines and penalties and launched a major public relations effort to get drivers to show more care in construction zones.
