Four boys facing 58 charges after gun play in Regina

Four boys, aged 13-15 arrested after a string of gun-related incidents in Regina. They face 58 charges, including multiple counts of possessing prohibited guns, reckless discharge of a firearm, and probation breaches.

Teens, aged 13 to15, face 58 charges in total after a string of gun sightings since June 18

Regina police have arrested four teens after a string of gunshots and gun sightings over the past several days.
The accused include two fifteen-year-olds and a 14-year-old from Regina, as well as a 13-year-old from Fort Qu 'Appelle.

Police seized a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle and a hand-made gun during the investigation.

In total, the teens face 58 charges, including multiple counts of possessing prohibited guns, reckless discharge of a firearm, and probation breaches.They made their first court appearances this morning.

Over the weekend police investigatedthree different gun sightings on Robinson Street in Regina's North Central neighbourhood.As well, a gunshot was reported on the 2900 block of 8th Avenue, and a window was shot out at a residenceon 1300 block Athol Street.

Since June 18, police say they've responded to at least 17 calls where people saw guns or heard gunshots:

  • Male arrested while carrying a shotgun June 21, 2016
  • Four events where windows of houses were shot out June 18-25, 2016
  • Five events involving pellet guns/CO2 pistols/BB guns (one involving injury to a male) June 18-26, 2016
  • Five events where reports indicated possible sound of shots or possible sight of firearm, all unsubstantiated at this time June 20-14, 2016
  • Two events where males were shot and wounded with firearms June 20th and June 22nd
