Prices at some Regina gas stations are starting to climb.

Gasoline prices have been tumbling since late November, dipping under 90 cents per litre about one week ago.

On Monday, however, a number of places were posting higher prices.

In some cases the jump was around 7 cents per litre, for regular unleaded gas, to around 85 cents per litre.

The trend led to tracking services, like GasBuddy.com, to issue a "price hike alert".

According to the online service, gas prices had been, on average, 77.9 cents per litre before the price jumps were noticed.

The price of gas at the pumps has attracted considerable attention. Many consumers and business owners can save significantly on a fill-up.

Price fluctuations often reflect activity in the world price for oil, which has been falling. That, in turn, affects the resources industry and could have an impact on government resource revenues.
