Where's the high speed internet in Saskatchewan?

A new map of high speed internetavailabilityshows Saskatchewan with good coverage in its cities but lots of blank spots in rural areas.

Earlier this week, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) released an interactive map showing broadband internet service coverage from coast to coast.

Broadband, or high speed, internet has as a minimum download speed of 5 megabits per second and an minimum upload speed of 1 megabit per second, according to the CRTC's definition.

Populated areas that don't reach those speeds are labeled as "underserved." The map lets the user click to find out how many underserved people there are in each 25-square-kilometresection.

In Saskatchewan, many smaller rural communities fall into the underserved category, according to the map.
The map shows broadband coverage as of the end of 2014.
