Manitou Beach residents are upset about a new plan to dump waste water into the famed local lake. Little Manitou Lake is well known for its reputed healing powers.

A local village council wants to dump waste water from a new water filtation plant into the lake and this has upset people like Michael Gaudet.

"We want to see the option of dumping the waste water into Little Manitou Lake taken off the list of options," says Gaudet, "Little manitou Lake is a closed basin system. That means that anything that goes into the lake stays in the lake."

Local councillors say the waste water comes from the same aquifer that feeds the lake. It's up to Saskatchewan Environment to approve the plan.
