One of the top attractions at Agribition in Regina is the rodeo and for the Williamson family, from Mankota, it's a family affair.

"It's everything," Shawn Williamson, a tie-down roper, told CBC News Wednesday. "It's what you travel for all year long, is to get here."

April Williamson competes in barrel racing. The couple's daughter, Kassidy, competes in junior girls barrel racing.

"When we get to go somewhere, we all get to compete," Shawn Williamson added. Shawn and April learned how to ride at a very young age and have been around horses their entire lives.

They shared that with daughter Kassidy.

"Sometimes there's tears of joy and sometimes there's tears of frustration," April Williamson said. "You gotta be there for one another because otherwise it gets to be a long summer."

Support of family has givenKassidy Williamson the confidence needed to do well in competitions.

"I feel OK," Kassidy said prior to an event. "I won it last year so I'm pretty confident about it."

The family's youngest child is four-year-old Kiera, who did not make the Agribition trip but April expects her to pick up the reins soon.

"She's already been competing in Little Britches rodeo," April said. "She's ripping and ready to go. We'll be in the truck with her for quite a few years I'm sure."

The final events for the rodeo at Agribition are Saturday night.
