Municipal leaders meet in Regina for annual SUMA convention

Saskatchewan's city and town leaders are meeting to discuss a handful of resolutions they plan to address this year.

Community leaders from around the province are gathering in Regina todayfor the 111th annual Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) convention.

Every year, hundreds of leaders from the province's towns, cities, and villages meet to discuss issues affecting their communities.

Premier Brad Wall is scheduled to speak at the convention at 11:15 a.m. CST. Later in the week, SUMA delegates will put their concerns to the province's cabinet ministers.

Included in the resolutions this year is a call to reduce crop stubble burning, and a province-wide ban on smoking and vaping in public places.
