A motel on the outskirts of North Battleford was destroyed bya fire on Monday night.

At about 10:00 p.m. fire crews were called to the Best Canadian Motor Inn, located along the Highway 16 bypass.

Wind gusts up to 47 km/h contributed to "adverse response conditions," the city says.

The city says the fire caused a two-hour power outage for residents across North Battleford because an electrical housing of a main transmission line caught fire. Power was restored later that night.
