Operation Red Nose launches to offer rides to holiday drinkers

Holiday season is fast approaching and for some that means celebrating with alcohol.

Program will offer free rides from Nov. 27-Dec. 31

Holiday season is fast approaching and for some that means celebrating with alcohol.

A road safety initiative is offering an alternative to driving home after the big party.

Operation Red Nose is providing rides again this year to people out celebrating.

It's operating inRegina, Saskatoon, the Battlefords and Prince Albert.

The program runs from Nov. 27 to Dec. 31and is carried out by volunteers using their own vehicles.

The service is free but people can make donations.Proceeds go towards local youth initiatives and amateur sport.
