Man taken to hospital after truck collides with Regina police cruiser

A crash between a marked Regina Police Service vehicle and a Ford F-150truck sent one man to hospital on Monday night.

The man, who was one of five passengers in the truck, has non-life-threatening injuries after the collision at the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Albert Street.

Regina Police Service responded to the crash just after 7:30 p.m. CST on June 12.

According to police, the marked police vehicle, with emergency equipment activated, was heading west in the left lane of Dewdney Avenue through the intersection at Albert Street.

The marked police vehicle was hit by the Ford F-150 truck thatwas going south in the right drive lane of Albert Street, said police.

Traffic at the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Albert Street was diverted while the investigation was completed and vehicles removed.

The driver of the Ford F-150 was charged with failing to yield to an emergency vehicle using emergency lights or devices.
