A routine traffic stop on Highway 1 Wednesday netted a cache of drugs and charges against a 55-year-old man from Calgary.

According to RCMP, around 5 p.m. CST officers stopped an eastbound car near Grenfell, Sask., after noting what they believed to be an equipment violation, illegal window tinting.

As they investigated further they had a narcotics sniffing dog brought to the car, and found 17.6 kilograms of marijuana, some hashish, the drug Oxycontin and another drug Psilocybin, also known as magic mushrooms inside the vehicle.

The driver was arrested without incident.

He is facing charges related to possession and trafficking. His car was also seized.

Grenfell is about 125 kilometres east of Regina.
