'Are we scared? A little bit,' says neighbour as police investigate death in Regina

Regina police are investigating after the body of a man was discovered Saturday morning.

Police were called at approximately 5:40 a.m. CST tothe 700 block of Garnet Street with reports of an injured man.

When the man was discovered, he had already died.

As of Saturday RPS did not have any other details on the death and are continuing their investigation.

Neighbour heard screaming

Fred Wall lives nearthe house on Garnet where the body was found.

He sayshe heard two people,possiblya man and a woman,screaming at each other late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

"I heard 'No!'and then 'Why?'and that's all I heard," he said.

Wall says he hadpreviouslyseen and spoken with the people living in the house but did not know them well. He says heoften hears parties and loud conversations from his backyard.

"Right around us, in here, [there's a]lot of killing," said Wall, who has lived in the neighbourhood for three years."That scares me. It's too close to us.The neighbourhood's nice, but when you've got murder around you, it hits."

Wall says that when his sons work night shifts, he walks with them to and from the bus stop.

Death may prompt move

He says he and his wife had been thinking about leaving the neighbourhood. Now, with police investigating a death so close to their home, they plan to look more seriously into moving.

"That really makes us think. Are we scared? A little bit," said Wall.
