Saskatchewan Rush lose 14-13 to New England Black Wolves

Rush fall to 10-4 on the season, currently half a game back of Colorado for first place

Kyle Buchanan scored four goals as the New England Black Wolves rallied past the Saskatchewan Rush 14-13 on Friday night in National Lacrosse League action.

Shawn Evans and Kevin Crowley added hat tricks for New England (8-5).

Pat Saunders struck twice with Jordan Hall and Kevin Buchanan rounding out the attack.

Mark Matthews led the Rush (10-4) with four goals while Zack Greer and Robert Church had three each. Matthew Dinsdale, Nik Bilic and Ben McIntosh supplied the rest of the offence.

Evan Kirk earned the win in net after turning aside 29-of-36 shots in 46:10. Tye Belanger started the game and made six saves on 10 shots.

Aaron Bold stopped 32-of-46 shots in defeat.

The Black Wolves converted on all five of their power-play opportunities while Saskatchewan was 4 for 5.

The Rush, who have already clinched a playoff spot, dropped to 10-4 on the season.

Saskatchewan will be back in action on Friday, April 15when they travel to Colorado to take on the Mammoth.

The Rush play their final home game of the season the following day, April 16, against Colorado.
