Automatedflaggerdevices are now out on highways and road construction sites around Saskatchewan but sometimes they get ignored.

They're designed so that flag workers don't have to be put at risk by standing on the road.

When theflaggerarm is extended, approaching vehicles are required to stop.

The horizontal arm, which is much like those seen atrailway crossings, is accompanied by a traffic light.

However, it appears not everyone is paying attention.

The government recently released a video showing a semi-trailer blowing past one of the devices.

The Ministry of Highways is asking people to slow down and be aware of the devices, because it could save lives.
