Shawn Lemon returns to the Saskatchewan Roughriders

Shawn Lemon is back wearing theGreen and White.

The defensive end was in Regina after signing with the team last month.

However, Lemon knows Saskatchewan. He started his CFL career with the Roughriders in 2011.He played one regular season game after joining the team midseason.

"I don't want to remember getting cut, so it's a good thing I came back," he said.

"It was a good transition for me at the time, just trying to learn the CFL game. I'm glad I'm getting a chance to come back here because, like I said, I owe this city some good football."

After being released from the Riders, Lemon spent 2012 with the Eskimos before joining the Calgary Stampeders for the next two years.

Lemon, who will wear number 8 with the Riders, has registered 18 sacks in his last 26 CFL games with Ottawa and Calgary. (CBC)

After their Grey Cup loss last November, the Ottawa Redblacks released Lemon so he could pursue NFL opportunities. When those opportunities dried up down south, the Roughriders were quick to pounce on the Lemon-aid for the team.

Lemon, who will wear No. 8 with the Riders,registered 18 sacks in his last 26 CFL games with Ottawa and Calgary. He's been in back-to-back Grey Cup games as well, winning it with the Stampeders in 2014
