Smelly Regina water caused by algae at Buffalo Pound Lake

The City of Regina is letting people know they may notice a slight smell to their water but it's still safe to drink.

The City of Regina is letting people know they may notice a slight smell to their water but it's still safe to drink.

The city said it's due to very high algae levels in Buffalo Pound Lake.The Buffalo Pound Water Treatment plant is using a powdered carbon to reduce the taste and odour.

It's expected the smell and taste will stick around for a few weeks.
