Firefighters are looking intothe cause of a fire that burned the Parkland Greenhouse north of Yorkton, Sask. early Friday morning.

Fire crews said at times flames reached nine metres.

"It's about 80 per cent destroyed," said Yorkton Fire Chief Trevor Morrissey.

The fire department got the call at about 1:30 a.m. CST, facingafully involved fire whenthey showed up.

The heavy winds pushedthe flames toa house next door about 10 metres away. Itmeltedthe side of the house, but no more damage was done to the surrounding property.

Part of the greenhouse building was also a restaurant and living quarters. People were in the northeast corner of the building at the time of the fire but they were able to get out with only minor injuries.

"Because there were people living here, the objective was to get people out and then contain it to that building," Morrissey said.

And because the greenhouse was wide open and there was a lot of cedar inside, the fire chief said it burned "very hot and very fast."

The fire department is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
