Saskatchewan marks Remembrance Day

Ceremonies will be taking place across Saskatchewan Friday, including one of the largest indoor ceremonies in the country.

Ceremonies will be taking place across Saskatchewan Friday, including one of the largest indoor ceremonies in the country.

Remembrance Day in Regina

In Regina, people wishing to attend an indoor ceremony can go to the Brandt Centre.

The public is asked to be seated by 10:15 a.m. CST, before the ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.

An outdoor service will be held at Victoria Park. Military will parade past the Royal Canadian Legion Brand on Cornwall Street to the cenotaph starting at 10:35 a.m. The ceremony gets fully underway at 10:45 a.m.

Remembrance Day in Saskatoon

Saskatoon will again host one of Canada's largest indoor Remembrance Day services at the SaskTel Centre. Doors open at 9 a.m. with the service set to get underway at 10:25 a.m.

Free rides to and from the ceremony are being offered through Saskatoon Transit and Access Transit.

Buses will depart from the downtown special events stop at 23rd Street and 2nd Avenue every 15 minutes beginning at 9 a.m., and from Market Mall and the Centre Mall at 9:45 a.m.

Return trips begin immediately following the ceremony.

An outdoor ceremony will also take place at the cairn in Montgomery Place, the Saskatoonneighbourhood that was settled by veterans returning from the Second World War and the Korean War. It begins at 11 a.m.
