Saskatoon police bust trio from Quebec with 99 fentanyl pills

Three people from Quebec have been charged in connection to a drug trafficking investigation by the Saskatoon police, which resulted in about 100 fentanylpills being seized.

According to a police news release issued Wednesday, officers with the force's drug enforcement street team stopped a black Volkswagen on Millar Avenue on Tuesday around 5 p.m.

Police searched the vehicle, and founda number of drugs including:

• "More than 99" fentanyl pills.
• 1,900 grams of marijuana.
• 165 grams of crack cocaine.
• 261 grams of powdered cocaine.

A 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old man inside the vehicle were taken into custody. They now face a number ofcharges including possession of fentanyl, marijuana and cocainefor the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation also led police to an apartment in the 300 block of 5th Avenue N. Once there, officers discovered more than $8,000 in cash, 62 grams of cocaine, 11 grams of marijuana and some cellphones.

Policearrested a 24-year-old woman who was inside the apartment. She's been charged withpossession of cocaine for the purposeof trafficking.

All three people were due to appear in Saskatoonprovincialcourt on Wednesday.
