Saskatoon Mayor Don Atchison not participating in Pride Parade

This year's Pride Parade in Saskatoon will once again march on without the city's mayor.

On Wednesday, Saskatoon Mayor Don Atchison's officesaid he willnot be attending this year's Pride Parade, adding he'll be at his father's 90thbirthday happening at the same time as the parade.

A spokesperson for the mayor said they're working through the schedule to attend some Pride events in Saskatoon running from June 3 to 12.

Atchison hasnever attended the parade as mayor.

The parade is scheduled forJune 11.
