17-year-old arrested after standoff near St. Paul's Hospital

A 17-year-old boy was arrested after a standoff near St. Pauls Hospital in Saskatoon Friday.

Youth charged with pointing a gun at a person and uttering threats to kill

A 17-year-old boyis under arrest after a standoff near St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon yesterday.

Police were called to the 400 block of Avenue R South shortly after 4:30 p.m. CST on Friday after reports of a man with a handgun threatening people.

Members of the public then directed police to a house on the 300 block of Avenue Q South that the youth had gone into.

The Tactical Support Unit, Crisis Negotiation Unit and Police Rescue Vehicle were called to the scene. (CBC)

When he refused to leave the house, the Tactical Support Unit, Crisis Negotiation Unit and Police rescue vehicle were called to the scene.

Police eventually convinced him to leave the house and give himself up.

No one was injured during the incident.

The 17-year-old has been charged with breaking and entering, pointing a firearm at a person, uttering threats to kill and for breaching his youth probation order.
