A group of Saskatchewan photographersis asking people to bring out their cameras or cellphones on Saturday to take pictures of the sunset, in memory of a Saskatoon family killed in a terrible crash.

AndreaLawrence is helping to organize thetributein memory of the Van de Vorst family.

Jordan and Chanda Van de Vorst, their five-year-old daughter Kamryn and two-year-old son Miguire, all lost their lives as a result of a crash at Highway 11 and Wanuskewin Road on Jan. 3.

Lawrence is asking everyone to find out the exact moment of sunset for their location and to upload a photo of that moment to the event's Facebook page.

"You don't even have to be a real photographer. You just have to, you know, join in," said Lawrence.

The idea was something that Jordan Van de Vorst, an avid photographer, posted on Facebook before he died.

Lawrence thought it would be a fitting tribute to a man who she said was always willing to help others take great pictures.

"Any time you saw something brilliant that you did, you were like 'how did you do that, how did you get that,' and he would gladly help you," Lawrence said.

Lawrence's plan is to take the photos and compile them by location in a video, similar to a timelapse,in honour of the family.

"Hopefully everybody joins in and has a little bit of fun and all of our thoughts go towards Jordan and his family that was lost," she said.

Other photography tributes for Jordan Van de Vorstand his familyhaveincluded a glow stick photography tribute and one from a group of aurora hunters.
