Surf's up in Saskatoon as ParticipACTION tour arrives

The ParticipACTION team has arrived in Saskatoon and has set up in a local park with all kinds of cool activities in an effort to get people moving.

The ParticipACTION150 Play Listhas arrived in Saskatoon and has set up in a local parkin an effort to get people moving.

"People should come and be open minded," said Don Ratcliffe-Smith, an active lifestyle consultant,in an interview with CBC Radio's Saskatoon Morning.

"I think what's really cool about the play list and what's happening today is it is really exposing people to a wide variety of activities, and to stay active your whole life you have to have fun."

The Play List team, which is promoting a list of 150 activities to complete,is set up in Victoria Parkfrom noon until 6 p.m. CST.

The group will have everything from wheelchair tennis to canoeing. Plus, there will be an eventthatRatcliffe-Smithcould not believe when he first heard about it: surfing.

No, you won't be riding waves; instead, you can test your balance ona surf simulator.

Ratcliffe-Smithis a fan of thePplay list, because when it comes to staying active, he said variety is the spice of life.
