Tax assessment notices heading to Saskatoon homeowners

Saskatoon is mailing real estate assessments out to homeowners this week.

How much is your house worth?

The City of Saskatoon has started mailing tax assessment notices out to homeowners.

City assessors take a look at the fair market value of properties, taking the home's neighbourhood, traffic flow and age into consideration.

The city then uses that market value to calculate how much property tax you will pay. The changes will show up on tax bills in 2017.

If you don't agree with the city's take on how much your property is worth, you can appeal the assessment until February 5th. Appeal forms are included in all tax assessments that are being mailed out.
