Saskatchewan woman knits clothing for premature babies

A woman from Watrous, Sask. spendsher free time craftingcaps and booties for premature babies.

Lois Fedraudonates theknitted clothing she makesto the neonatal intensive care unit of Saskatoon's Royal University Hospital.

It is an idea that came out of conversations she had with friends aboutthe scarcity ofclothing for premature babies.

"Whenever I see a preemie outfit, I buy it and put it in the bag with the others," said Fedrau, whohas been donating clothing to the hospital for years.

"I like knitting. I've always liked knitting and it just went from there," she added.

In order to help with costs, friends have been bringing Fedrau bags of baby wool.

"I just knit,"saidFedrau. "I pick it up when I'm sitting down in the evening. It's a nice pastime."
