3 people arrested for attempted murder in small northern Ontario community

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested three people after a shooting in the small community of Charlton, northwest of Temiskaming Shores.

A shooting occurred at a residence on Agnes Street in Charlton, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested three people after a shooting in the small community of Charlton, northwest of Temiskaming Shores.

Police were called to a residence on Agnes Street in Charltonaround 5 a.m. Monday, and they say one person was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Three people have been charged wiith attempted murder.

Police say they believe it is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to public safety.

The Temiskaming OPP crime unit is conducting the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
