Elliot Lake, Ont., students and athletes to get priority for pre-season NHL game tickets

The Hockeyville committee in Elliot Lake, Ont., is out with some new ticketing information for the big pre-season NHL game coming up on Sept.29in Sudbury.

Two tickets to the pre-game skate that Sunday morning will be going to every student at Elliot Lake's ninearea schools.

As well, pairs of tickets to the evening game are being made available to all registered minor hockey players in the city, as well as those registered for adult leagues.

Other minor hockey associations in Blind River, Serpent River and Sudbury will also get some tickets.

The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League's (NOJHL)Elliot Lake Vikings junior players will all get tickets, as will all skaters registered in the local figure skating club..

The rest will go to the public via a lottery, for Elliot Lake residents only, with registration this Friday and next Monday, with winners to be drawn on Sept. 18.

Elliot Lake won the right to to host the game through the national Hockeyville contest, but local arena issues forced the game to be relocated to Sudbury.

The game will feature the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ottawa Senators.
