Special Investigations Unit looking into fatal shooting in Sault Ste. Marie

The Special Investigations Unit is looking into a case fromSault Ste. Marie, after a 40-year-oldman died from a gunshot wound.

According to the SIU, Sault Ste Marie Police received a report of a pickup truck being driven erratically onSunday.

A policeofficer attempted to stop the vehicle, and the truck pulled into a driveway on Fourth Line.

The SIU said moments laterthe man inside the truck was fatally shot, but investigators did not specify who shot the man.

The Special Investigations Unit investigates incidents involving police throughout Ontario, where there has been a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
