Sudbury police nab erratic truck driver after crash at Extendicare

A police chase in Sudbury early this morning landed a man with a host of charges.

Police said the driver fled a spot check on the Kingsway, but was eventually caught on foot

A police chase in Sudbury early Tuesday morning landed a man with a host of charges.

Police saidclose to 1:30 a.m.an officer saw a pick-up truck driving erratically on the Kingsway.

The truck then sped around a spot check, up onto the sidewalk and nearly hit a lamp post and officers.

Police followed the truck for about 2.5kilometres, before the driver and a female passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle in a hotel parking lot and tried to escape on foot.

The truck ran into the the south side of the Extendicare on Falconbridge Road.

No one was hurt.

Police saidthe pair were caught, and the man is facing several charges including dangerous driving and flight from police.
