Chris Sheridan is the founder of the House of Kin in Sudbury. He's been the chair of the board for the charity but is now stepping away. Chris joined us in studio to tell us about the House of Kin and his reasons for stepping away from it at this time.The founder of the House of Kin, Chris Sheridan, is set to retire from his role as chair of the board to spend more time with his grandchildren and wife.

The beginning of the House of Kin

After a late-night meeting at Memorial Hospital, Sheridan walked throughthe lobby andsaw people sleeping on couches. In the parking lot he saw more people sleeping in cars. He returned and asked a security guard why people were sleeping outside and in the waiting room.

The guard said 'They're here to look after loved ones, but can't afford to pay for hotels."

That markedthe beginning of the House of Kin.
