Sudbury city councillorssay more and more people are griping about the condition of sidewalks this winter. Officials questioned staff about snow-covered sidewalks during an operations committee meeting Monday.

Ward 10 Coun. Fern Cormier said buried sidewalks is what he's hearing about most.

"The plow went by. We saw the plow go by," the councillor said. "That's greatbut they buried the sidewalk and I'm curious to know if there is and it may be an impossibility based on resources but [has]there ever been anyone review the situation?"

City staff said it would take a lot more money to bring sidewalk conditions on par with those on streets. They add sidewalks get buried by snowplows, but they should be cleared the following day.
