Todd Alan Petrie murder investigation continues 5 years later

Investigators inSault Ste. Marie are again asking the public for information in a 5-year-old murder case.

Feb. 27 marked a half-decade since the body of 48-year old Todd Alan Petrie was discovered in his Albert Street East apartment in Sault Ste. Marie.

Ontario Provincial Policesaid a post-mortem examination at the time showed the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Police believe that Petrie may have known his attacker, and may have let that person into his apartment.

"We believe someone has the information that will identify the person or persons who carried out this callous act,"OPPDetective Inspector ShawnGlassfordsaid in a press release.

In 2012, the provincial government offered a $50,000reward for information.

That reward remains in place.
