Thieves make off with $6K of camping gear after Junior Canadian Rangers break-in

OPP in Pickle Lake are on the hunt for thieves who robbed the Junior Canadian Rangers garage sometimes between Wednesday, Sept. 14 and Friday, Sept. 30.

Ontario Provincial Police in Pickle Lake, Ont. are on the hunt for thieves who reportedly robbed the Junior Canadian Rangers garage and trailer on Rose Avenue in the community, sometimebetween Wednesday, Sept. 14 and Friday, Sept. 30.

According to police, they were able to recover a large amount of the items taken, but are still on the lookout for the remaining gear, including.

  • a 9-person Coleman tent and 2 Coleman camping stoves
  • cases of rations
  • Junior Canadian Ranger backpacks and uniforms
  • 15 sets of green fleece pants
  • slingshots
  • 30 tubes of Chapstick, 15 cans of bug spray and 15 arctic candles
  • 3 laundry bags and 2 sleeping pads
  • 2 cases of hot chocolate
  • a first aid kit

Police estimated the value of the stolen equipment at $6,600.
