Marina Park splash pad attracts hundreds daily

Thunder Bay's hot spell has sent many families flocking to the new splash pad at Marina Park and the numbers show it.

The splash pad averages 800 visitors a day, according to Donna Sippala, whosupervises Aquatics and Wellness for the city.

"We knew it would be a popular destination ...there's just so much to do at the park," she said.

"With the marina, the lake being right there, the public art displays ... it's just a beautiful setting."

If the heat holds up, Sippala said she expects to see steady traffic at the splash pad for the rest of the summer.
