The end of the Leafs' season in 2015 looked a lot like a season from three decades before.

So if you watch the Leafs, you know that things haven't been going so well.

The team missed the playoffs. And on Saturday night, they lost their last game of the season to the playoff-bound Montreal Canadiens.

And within hours of the last game in the season, the team announced on Sunday that it was parting ways with general manager Dave Nonis and interim head coach Peter Horachek.

Leafs fans are used to this kind of thing, when seasons don't go off as planned.

Ahead of the final game of the season on Saturday, the CBC's Trevor Dunn looked at how similar this season felt to another in the early 1980s, when the team also missed the post-season.
