Toronto police launch bear hunt after reports of a sighting in Scarborough

Toronto police are on a bear hunt in the north of Scarborough.

Toronto Zoo says all its bears have been accounted for, police say

Toronto police are on a bear hunt in the north of Scarborough.

Officers began tweeting out reports of a 300-pound bear sighted in the TapscottRoad and Finch Avenue East area at 10:30 p.m.

Police are warning the public to stay away from the area and not to approach the animal. Officers are currently searching the area.

The Toronto Zoo, which is locatedless than four kilometres from where the animal is alleged to have been seen, told police they are not missing any bears.
