Blue Jays claim victory on opening day

The Toronto Blue Jays claimed a 6-1 victory over the New York Yankees on the first day of the 2015 season.

The Blue Jays have started off their season with a win.

The Jays' Drew Hutchison took the mound for the opening day game.

The 24-year-old starter went six innings and struck out three Yankees along the way.

Edwin Encarnacion hit a home run for the Jays, as did rookie second baseman Devon Travis and for him, it was the first hit of his major-league career.
