CBC Torontois looking for the city's new anthem!

Do you compose and perform original music? Regardless of your genre or experience, this contest could put you on the map. It all starts with creating a song about this wonderful city of ours.

Submissions are open fromJan.18- Feb. 192016.

Whether you'refull time musician or music is your passion project, Song in the 6ix is open to everyone. And the stakes are high:$10,000, and a CBC-produced music video!

To enter, write an original song about Toronto and record a video of yourself performing it. Why do you love our city? Why should other people visit? This is both an anthem and a love letter to Toronto. Be sure to include "The 6ix" or "Song in the 6ix" in your lyrics, with the option of making reference to CBC Toronto or any of our CBC Toronto hosts.

The public will vote on all videos and songs submitted to determine the top 6 finalists based on voting, and a CBC judging panel will select 6 additional finalists to advance to the final round. A CBC celebrityjury will then select one contest winner out of the 12 finalists.

After the public narrows down the entries to the top 6, and the CBC judging panel narrows down an additional 6 entries, the CBC jury will make the final selection.
