COVID-19 pandemic: What's happening in the GTA today

Ontario now has 257 confirmed cases of coronavirus and the public is still being warned to socially distance.

Toronto feels like a much slower city today, as self-distancing measures aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 continue.

Ontario now has 257confirmed cases of coronavirus, while thenumber of cases under investigation stands at 3,972. The tally includes at least one death (Halton health authorities said Thursdaythere appears to be a second)whilefive other cases are considered resolved.

Updated numbers are expected around5:30 p.m.
