Creepy clowns behind the wheel in Oshawa charged with making a nuisance

What may have started as a prank ended at the police station in Oshawa. Durham police have charged three teens wearing clown masks with causing a nuisance after there were reports of the creepy clowns driving around Oshawa trying to scare people on Friday afternoon.

What may have started as a prank ended at the police station in Oshawa.

Durham police have charged three teens wearing masks with causing a nuisance after there were reports of the creepy clowns driving around Oshawa trying to scare people on Friday afternoon.

The 19-year-old driver also faces a charge of reckless driving near SimcoeStreet North and Taunton Road, according to a police report.

Witnesses saythe grey Saturn would drive up to cars and pedestrians so that the "clowns" could open the doors and try to scare other drivers, police say.

Durham Regional Police officers have responded to more than 30 calls involving creepy clowns in less than three weeks, according to a release. A similar trend has happened across North America this October, with enoughcreepy clown sightings to inspire an app made by Montreal students to track the pranksters.
