Condolences are pouring in for the five police officers killed and seven who were injured after snipers opened fireon a Dallas, Texas, protest last night.Police from across Ontario are joining in the chorus of sympathy andoffering their support.

Gunmen staged an "ambush-style" attack during a large protest over two recent fatal police shootings of black men in the U.S.PhilandoCastile was shot and killed by a Minnesota Police officer on Wednesday, a day after Alton Sterling was fatally gunned down outside a convenience store in Louisiana.

Police say three suspects have been arrested and one suspect is dead in connection with the Dallas shooting. Chief David Brown said the shooters "planned to injure and kill as many officers as they could."

On Friday, Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders took to Twitter this morning to send his "thoughts and prayers" to the victims and their families.

Toronto Police Association President Mike McCormackcondemned the attack on police.

The image of the Dallas Police Department badge with a black band across it showed up on many police twitter accounts Friday.

Police from almost every force in Ontario voiced theirsupport for the Dallas PD in the wake of the deadly sniper attack.
