Move over, John Tory. A bigger celebrity has taken a hot subway ride in Toronto.

Kiefer Sutherland, aka Jack Bauer in 24 and the star of dozens of other movies, wound up on a TTC subway car without air conditioning on Thursday night.

The hot, old subway cars have been the subject of commuters' scorn all summer, but they were catapulted into the news again Wednesday when Mayor John Tory rode the Bloor-Danforth line from end to end with a frustrated rider.

On a Thursday when the temperature hit29.2 C but felt more like 38 with thehumidex, it was Sutherland's turn.Twitter user Safiah C. spotted the celebrity on the train, and unsurprisingly, he was feeling the heat.

She also snagged a picture of Sutherland, who has been filming the upcoming ABC show Designated Survivor in Toronto. Sutherland also recently showed off his musical chops with a performance at the Horseshoe Tavern.

CBC Toronto has attempted to contact the star to see how his ride went.

Sutherland wasn't the only actor feeling the heat in the city. The star-studded cast of The Magnificent Seven, who walked the red carpet at Roy Thomson Hall to open TIFF, were all sweating.

"I feel like butter on a skillet right now," actress Haley Bennett joked with a CBC reporter.
