A pedestrian is dead following a highway collision Saturday night in Oshawa, police say.

Police say man, 22, was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries

A pedestrian is dead following a highway collision Saturday night in Oshawa, police say.

Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Ontario Provincial Police posted to social media that they were investigating a collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 401 westbound near Stevenson Road.

The pedestrian, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries, police say.

A number of lanes on the highway, and the northbound ramp from Stevenson Road were closed for part of the night, but have since reopened.

No other details are available at this time.
