Suspended paralegal charged after allegedly representing client in Newmarket, Ont.

York Regional Police have charged a 57-year-old Toronto man after he allegedly represented a client while suspended as a paralegal.

York Regional Police have charged a 57-year-old Toronto man after he allegedly represented a clientwhile suspended as a paralegal.

Police say the man has beencharged with breach of recognizance. Court staff in Newmarket, Ont. told an officer on Feb. 17that the man had just been representing a client in court.

Const. Andy Pattenden of York Regional Police said the case in question involved an allegedtraffic offence.

The man,suspended from the Law Society of Upper Canada,appeared in Newmarket, Ont. court on Feb. 22 and has been released on bail.

Police say they are concerned that the man may haverepresentedother clients at Ontarioprovincial courts while suspended.
