Playground reopens after razor blade scare

A playground at an east-end Toronto public school has been reopened after two razor blades were found in woodchips.

The razor blades were found last weekatJ.G. Workman Public School in the area of BirchmountRoadand Danforth Road, police said.

Police combed the playground with rakes and metal detectors on Mondaynight and found no more blades.

Investigators saidit doesn't appear the blades were planted maliciously.

It is not the first scare involving razor blades in Greater Toronto Area parks and playgrounds.

In April, an Oakville park was shut down after eight razor blades were discovered in mulch around the bases of playground equipment.

Last November,aresidentfound fiverazor blades buried in sand at a west-end playground.
