Quebec-based Nova Bus says it has received a $32.6-million order for diesel buses from the Toronto Transit Commission.

Company to supply Toronto Transit Commission with 55 diesel buses

Quebec-based Nova Bus says it has received a $32.6-million order for diesel buses from the Toronto Transit Commission.

The transit bus manufacturer says it will supply the Toronto transit authority with 55 buses with delivery set to begin in 2015.

Nova Bus says the contract strengthens its presence in Ontario.

The buses will be entirely assembled at the company's main plant in St-Eustache, near Montreal, and will include a specially-designed barrier to help protect drivers made from steel and tempered glass.

Nova Bus is a leading manufacturer of transit vehicles, including electric-hybrid, natural gas and bus rapid transit vehicles.

It's part of the Volvo Group.
