Man charged with impaired driving after Richmond Hill crash leaves 21-year-old dead

York Regional Police have charged a 21-year-old with impaired driving after a brutal Richmond Hill crash that left a young woman dead.

York Regional Police have charged a 21-year-old with impaired driving after a brutal Richmond Hill crash that left a young woman dead.

Police allege the suspect was driving a Toyota Camry that T-boned a Chevrolet Cruzenear the intersection ofBayviewAvenue andWoodriverStreet at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night.

A 21-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Cruzedied at the scene, while the car's driver suffered serious injuries.

The suspect was also taken to hospital, but he has since been released into police custody.

The suspect, who lives in Toronto, faces a slew of charges including impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and refusing to provide a breath sample.

The man is set to appear at a Newmarket court on Monday.
