2 teens charged in robbery of College Street marijuana dispensary

Toronto police have arrested two teen boys in connection with a robbery of a marijuana dispensary in the west end on Sunday night.

Toronto police have arrested two teen boysin connection with a robbery of a marijuana dispensary in the west end on Sunday night.

Const. Craig Brister, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service, said police were called toGreen Buddha Medicinals, 792College St., east of Ossington Avenue, at about 9:40 p.m.

The teens, both from Toronto, are aged 19 and 17.

Brister said police believe that two suspectswith disguises, including masks and gloves,entered the store.One was armed with a loaded gun whilethe other wascarrying a hockey bag.

One pointed the gun at a clerk anddemanded cash and marijuana.

No one injured

"While they were in the process of collecting whateverproperty they were going to take, the front entrance of the premises was locked by one of the victims in an attempt to flee," Bristersaid.

He said the clerk did leaveas the suspectswere putting itemsinto the hockey bagand the pair ended up beinglocked inside the store. In an attempt to escape,one suspectshot at the front door several times.

Officers arrivedand arrested the two teens.

Gun recovered

The 19-year-old has been charged with 10 offences, while the 17-year-old has been charged with eight offences. Most of the charges are robbery and firearm charges.

The pair were scheduled to appear incourt on Mondayfor a bail hearing.

No one was injured, and police said agun was recovered.
