Scotiabank is pulling its sponsorship of Nuit Blanche, the all-night citywide art crawl, saying the event no longer lines up with its priorities.

The major Canadian bank has sponsored Nuit Blanche since 2006, and said in a release it's "proud of our long partnership," but informed the event's organizers in February that they would no longer support it.

Scotiabank said it also plans to help organizers look for a new sponsor. It's unclear how much the bank paid to be the event's title sponsor.

Last week's Nuit Blanche featured more than 110 projects, including giant Lego barn owls and an installation by well-known Paris street artist JR.

Police dealt with a number of crowd-related issues at Saturday's event but Scotiabankdidn't address that in its statement.
