The slain womans eldest daughter told reporters Tuesday that Black threatened her mother, whom her family pushed to go to police.

"I did encourage my mom to put a restraining order and press charges when he was threatening her," 18-year-old Ciera Graham said.

Now they wish they could have done more to distance her mother from her former partner.

"Because we did live in the same house, she did have the same number, nothing really changed," Ciera Graham said.

The family believes that Black lured Andrene Graham to the laneway where the mother of five was shot in the head last Friday.

Family and friends at her churchknew that something was wrong when she didnt show up that night.

Police quickly determined that Black was a person of interest in the case, but they could not immediately locate him.

The next day, Black died after "an interaction" with York police.

Policebelieve that Black shot Graham dead. There are no other suspects in the case.

As Grahams family makes arrangements for her funeral, they are faced with a slew of new challenges in life, including finding a new place to live in the wake of their mothers death.
